How to Give Yourself a Mini Facial

Ever want to feel like you're in your own little personal spa? Now you can by treating yourself to your own mini facial. It's only a few simple and easy steps with supplies and ingredients you might likely have around your house. Every couple of weeks, set aside a bit of time to give yourself a salon-style facial at home. Feel brand new and refreshed following these quick steps.

What you will need:

  • Facial Wash
  • 2 Clean Towels (One dry, the other damp)
  • Facial Scrub (or dry uncooked oatmeal)
  • Bowl
  • Six strawberries or a Banana (Strawberries for oily skin, Banana for dry/normal skin)
  • Fork
  • Clean Tissue
  • Facial Moisturizer

Steps:

  1. Smooth your skin with some facial wash. Leave it on for one or two minutes to give it time to dissolve and makeup or bacteria on your skin. Then wipe away with a clean damp towel.
  2. Massage a good amount of facial scrub or some dry, uncooked oatmeal over your skin to whisk away dead surface skin cells and clear blocked pores. Rinse away with warm water.
  3. Fill a bowl with freshly boiled water. Then lean over the bowl, capturing the steam by placing the towel over your head. Keep your face there for about five minutes to allow the steam to warm and soften your skin. If you have sensitive skin, it's recommended to skip this step.
  4. Splash your face with warm water and pat dry.
  5. Smooth on a homemade fruit facial: If you have oily skin: Crush six strawberries with a fork, smooth onto your face, and leave on for three minutes. If you have normal/dry skin: Crush a peeled banana with a fork, smooth onto your face and leave on for five minutes.
  6. Remove mask with a clean tissue, then rinse your face with warm water.
  7. Finish with a splash of cool water to freshen your skin. Pat dry with a towel.
  8. Put a small amount of moisturizer and massage it in to encourage a brighter complexion.

How To Keep Your Skin Pimple Free

Every teen goes through the pain of acne, but there's always a way you can avoid it. People who suffer it the most may think that it's the hardest thing too stay away from, but it really isn't. All you need to do is keep your face clean and acne should never be a problem! Here's how you do it:

What you'll need:
  • Pore Cleansing Pads
  • Facial Cleanser (Cetaphil recommended)
  • Baking Soda
  • Face Cream/Oil (Coconut Oil Recommended)
  • Scrubbing Face Pads

Steps:
  1. Wet your face with warm water and put a small amount of the Cetaphil Cleanser (or which ever other cleanser you prefer) and a small amount of baking soda on the scrubbing facial pad.
  2. Start gently scrubbing your face in circular motions. (careful not to scrub to hard because it can cause small cuts on your face)
  3. Rinse your face with cool water and dry with a small towel (dab don't rub).
  4. Use the Clearasil pads to wipe down your face.
  5. To moisturize use your coconut oil and run evenly on your face. Only use a very small amount if you don't want your face too oily,
  6. Do this entire routine every morning and night and your face should be spotless in about two weeks (depending on how bad your acne is). To maintain your clear skin don't stop washing your face every morning and night.
